This year I could not go to my rural home as usual due to the pandemic, the best option was to celebrate the Easter weekend with my other family members based in Gauteng. Normally, we would go to our rural home in KwaZulu-Natal and have a ceremony – a traditional ceremony and cook traditional food (we normally slaughter an animal).
Since the start of the COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns, my diet has changed since I pay more for food compared to before. I love veggies but it seems as if they cost more than meat now. Unfortunately, since I stay in an apartment on the second floor, I’m unable to start a veggie garden. I am forced to buy from the shop.
