Superman: Support lacking before COVID-19

Have clinic communications changed since COVID-19?

Clinic communication has been changed since COVID-19 because we are not seeing a doctor regularly on our clinic visits. At the same time when it is your appointment date, you must queue outside the gate instead of getting inside and wait at the waiting room to be called by a doctor or counsellor.

Was your clinic using SMS or WhatsApp to communicate with you before COVID-19? How are text messages and WhatsApp being used to connect you with health providers now?

My clinic has never been communicating through SMS or WhatsApp with patients. The only time the clinic communicate with patients is when you were taken blood, and after the results, they saw something wrong. Even at that time they just call you directly to your phone to come to see the doctor. My clinic does not use text messages and WhatsApp to connect with your health provider, you only see a health provider when it is your appointment.

Did your clinic offer support groups before COVID-19? Have they continued and if yes, are they in person or via phone or WhatsApp?

My clinic was not offering support groups even before COVID

-19. The last time my clinic offers support groups it’s when Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) was operating the HIV clinics. Since the government took over, support groups are not existing and a newly diagnosed person see the counsellor.

Are your regular clinic consultations done virtually or do you have to go into the clinic?

I must go to the clinic for my regular clinic consultations after three months. If I have something that needs to be attended you allowed to visit the clinic.
